HISTORY

generic building photoMcLagan, an Aon Hewitt Company, was formed in 1966.  It has evolved into the premier compensation consulting and performance benchmarking firm focused exclusively on the financial services sector. Its proprietary surveys are the gold standard for compensation and performance data for banks. With 5 locations in the US, and 6 outside the US located in the major money centers, it is a global resource servicing banks of all sizes from the world’s largest corporate and consumer banks to regional and small community banks as well.

Two US locations, Boston and Minneapolis were added when Amalfi Consulting joined McLagan in December of 2010.  Amalfi's focus was on solving today’s bank compensation issues and helping companies become better. Amalfi was formerly the Compensation Group of Clark Consulting, which was formed in 1999. Todd Leone, one of Amalfi's founders, had been with the company since its inception. Amalfi's other founder, Gayle Appelbaum, has over 30 years of compensation expertise.

Historically and today, we have focused on providing an array of bank compensation services to assist our clients. Our work is focused on the board of directors, officers and employees of financial institutions. Our goal is to use the tools of compensation  and incentive planning to help clients navigate through their specific and individual challenges.

To assure that our clients have access to the best consulting services available, we have worked within the industry to pioneer sessions that are informative and focused on current market trends. As an example, we pioneered with Bank Director Magazine to create the Board & Executive Compensation Conference. This was the first annual conference that focused on the compensation needs of financial institutions on a national basis.
