Gayle J. Appelbaum is Managing Director and Founder of Amalfi Consulting. Ms. Appelbaum has extensive experience in compensation consulting, as well as in financial and investment planning. Prior to joining Amalfi Consulting, Ms. Appelbaum was a director for a leading investment and financial-planning company, where she piloted the company’s Web conference program for mentoring financial advisors on advanced consulting issues. She also founded and operated a financial-planning and consulting firm for 22 years, specializing in the business owner, executive benefits and estate-planning arenas.

As a Managing Director and Founder, Ms. Appelbaum manages all aspects of client relationships—from developing the project scope and assessing each bank’s situation, to creating and implementing each unique compensation strategy. Ms. Appelbaum also serves the client as an advisor on various compensation and benefits issues, including pay-for-performance, taxation, regulatory compliance and compensation agreement provisions.

Ms. Appelbaum graduated from the University of Minnesota where she majored in both Business Administration and Philosophy. She then earned a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from the American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Ms. Appelbaum has served as an adjunct professor at Minnesota State University—Mankato, teaching in its Certified Financial Planning program.  Ms. Appelbaum has been a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences and has authored articles for banking industry publications.
